Opacimeters: to measure the opacity in the air through the existing particles
Sentry is an electro-optical whose function is to measure the opacity in the air through the existing particles (dust, emissions of gas, mist, rain, snow, etc.).
It uses the principle of front scattering, capturing a sample of light at an angle of 42 °. The amplitude of this angle allows to detect large particles.
The advantages of Sentry over other opacimeters are: 1. does not need to be calibrated in the installation.
2. External vibrations do not affect the calibration of the sensor.
3. Uses beginning of front scattering, against other opacimeters, using less effective technologies such as backscatter.
