The embedded PC CX8093 has a Profinet RT interface, designed as 2 port switch for the realization of a wiring 'Daisy-Chain'. A special feature is the function of a virtual device, through which you can double the size of the process data or connect a second controller.

Thanks to the optional virtual device interface (slave), the embedded PC CX8093 behaves like two devices Profinet.Otra advantage of virtual device consists of communication with a second controller Profinet, easily increasing the availability of the sistema.cir, the CX8093 can process twice as Profinet process data. The name of the network of «both» devices is established either via address switch or via the TwinCAT System Manager. The IP configuration is assigned by the Profinet controller.

The embedded PC CX8093, with a size of only 65 x 100 x 80 mm, have the operating system Windows CE 6.0, a 400 MHz ARM9 CPU, RAM 64 MB, as well as a MicroSD card, which can be expanded up to 4 Gbyte. In addition to bus terminals, can also be added directly EtherCAT Terminals. The CX8093 automatically recognizes the start-up phase which I/o system is connected. Another particularity is a capacitive 1-second ups, in order to save persistent data in the event of failure of the supply voltage. The controller is programmed using automation software TwinCAT PLC. The CX80xx series is also available with other bus systems, such as Ethernet, PROFIBUS, BACnet/IP, CANopen or OPC UA.
