AFAQUIM, Association of manufacturers of pharmaceutical chemistry brings together and represents the set of companies manufacturers of active principles and intermediate pharmaceuticals (API). This sector has a turnover of close to 1.5 billion euros and exports of around 1 billion euros.
Despite global competition in prices, especially in developing countries, the sector has responded with quality and service and maintains a constant line of greater than five percent annual growth. Spain is the third European country in importance in the production of pharmaceutical raw materials, well above its industrial Nations set position.
