Iberpotash Chooses the technology of Veolia for the recovery of potasa and salt
11 September 2012
This new plant, that will be finalised in 2014, will allow the recovery and purification of chloride sódico and chloride of potassium of the resultant by-products of the production of fertilizantes. Thanks to the employment of the technology of evaporation and crystallisation of HPD, Iberpotash will expand his capacity of annual production in 750.000 tonnes of salt industrial quality and of feeding, and will recover until 50.000 tonnes to the year of potasa white.
This new plant of evaporation and crystallisation will work under an entirely sustainable operating system that allows to reduce notably the environingingmental footprint. Designed like a system without liquid effluents, avoids the download during the process of evaporation-crystallisation at the same time that allows the production of condensed surplus for his reuse. The leached resultant of the storage of salt captures and processes in the system, avoiding poured of brine to the environingingment.
HPD Process Engineering Will commission of the design and construction of the plant of recovery of salt and potasa. The agreement includes the design and supply of the main equipment of the process, the auxiliary systems, the engineering of detail and the gestión and steering of the project.
Iberpotash, pertaining to the multinational ICL, is a skilled company in the production and supply of fertilizantes for the agriculture and other industrial uses. It produces around one million tonnes of potasa red in his two mines of Catalonia, that represent the most important reservation of potasa of Europe.
