“The Chemical Engineering has to follow looking for formulas to fulfil the challenge to be sustainable”

Herman J. Feise, Senior Rechearch Manager Science Relations of the multinational BASF, opened the past 28 June the sessions of the last day of the International Congress of Chemical Engineering 'Innovando for the Future'. Feise Offered a European and world-wide perspective of the sector of the chemical engineering from the industrial point of view, desgranando the situation and the challenges to which confronts the sector in some surroundings globalizado and cambiante like which live.

“The challenge is to create sustainable chemicals for the future and can serve to 9 million people all over the world, that besides will sue services of quality, with total guarantees but and being respectful with the environingingment”, affirmed Feise. “Thus, the chemical engineering has to follow looking for formulas to fulfil with the challenge to be sustainable”. In this sense, ensured that in the EU has achieved in the last years a descent of 25% of energetic consumption.

From the point of view of the industry has to be able to find the balance between three fundamental questions: “Be socially responsible, be sustainable and to the pair achieve economic profitability of his activities”.
