The Board of Castile and Leon authorises the payment of almost 39 million euros for the graziers of Salamanca

The Council of Government of the Board of Castile and Leon knew, the past 4 April, the report on the payment of premiums to the livestock beef of meat of corresponding Castile and Leon to the year 2011. The autonomic Executive has authorised, in the last days of March, the payments joined up to the graziers of cows nodrizas that effected the application of said premium the past year –73,9 million euros– and the payment of an anticipate of 60% of the premium of sacrifice –6,5 million euros–. With these 80 millions, the Council of Agriculture and Livestock has paid already to the sector, in this first quarter of the year, almost 206 million euros.
The graziers of the province of Salamanca receive 36,9 million euros by premium by cow nodriza, with a cabin of 197.822 animals beneficiarios. In the case of the premium by sacrifice of bovine adults, Salamanca, with 137.194, receives a cuantía of 1,9 million euros. In group, the graziers of Salamanca receive 38,8 million euros by these two premiums.
The Board of Castile and Leon has realised this payment twenty days before that the average of the last five years, with the main aim to inject liquidity and like this help to the sector in front of the delicate situation that crosses by the coyuntura economic. A decision that would justify in base to the encarecimiento of the costs of production allocated to the feeding and the scarce availability of pastures by the effect of the drought and of the low wintry temperatures. Besides, of the last five years, only during the period 2011-2012 has paid whole amount of the help. In this exercise has effected to a greater number of graziers, when having a management of data of each one of them more debugged and qualified.
The past 6 March, the
Castile and Leon, with 1,09 million heads of beef of meat –21,6% of the national total– is the autonomous community with greater census of Spain, followed of Extremadura, with 15%; and Andalucia, with 10%.
