The FEV gathers with Arias Cañete to tackle the actuality of the sector vinícola

The Minister of Agriculture, Feeding and Environingingment, Miguel Arias Cañete, beside Isabel García Tejerina, General Secretary of Agriculture and Feeding, gathered the past 8 March with representatives of the sector vitivinícola Spanish. They assisted to the meeting Félix Solís Yáñez, president of the FEV and of the OeMv; Pau Rock, general secretary of the FEV; Rafael of Rey, general director of the OeMv and Brave Sunday, general secretary of FIVIN-WCP.

During the meeting treated the subjects of actuality of the sector: the decrease of the inner consumption, the importance of the internationalisation, the freedom of use of the marks, the OCM, the sustainability and the paper of the OIV.

In the first place, commented the situation of the inner market, where the consumption has followed diminishing in 2011. With the aim of revitalizarlo, the FEV and the CECRU have presented in front of the MAGRAMA a project of promotion in the inner market and the OEMV has elaborated diverse works on structure and inner consumption. Besides, it treated the need of a coherent politics between ministries where no demonice to the wine and recognise the effort of the FEV and of FIVIN in the promotion of the moderate consumption of wine and the relation came and health. They explained him the general principles of the program 'Wine in Moderation–Art of Vivre', to the which will adhere formally in his visit to Intervín.

Later, resaltó the success of the exports of wine, that in 2011 have increased 26,3% until 22,3 million hectolitros on a production of 40,3 million hectolitros of wine and mosto. It underlined the good result that is having the help to the promotion of the OCM and suggested some improvements of the same. The assistants resaltaron the importance that has the internationalisation at present and the will of the FEV to participate actively in the definition and execution of the plan of promotion of the sector. In this line, put of self-evident that the wine has to be leading and contribute favorablemente in the project Marks Spain.

To continuation, the representatives of the sector explained the importance of the private marks in the sector of the wine, whose use has seen sometimes restricted in a lot of DO, protected by the rule of his CC.AA. This importance Is showing in the success that has the program of promotion in third countries, that has a strong component marquista.

With regard to the OCM, the FEV bet by not changing the dates of 2015/2018 in which it finishes the prohibition. Besides, it considers that a general diet of freedom is compatible with the desirable regulation of rights in those sectors or regions that wish to have controlled his potential of production through the management interprofesional.

Next, the assistants exposed that with the movement 'Wineries for Climate Protection', the FEV, FIVIN, VIMAC and the main cellars associated have initiated a pioneering process that goes to endow to the Spanish wine of the big differential advantage of a sustainable production, respectful with the environingingment and with a commitment for the reduction of broadcasts. It exists a big interest in that the Minister support the movement.

Finally, the representatives of the sector stood out the utility of the OIV and his interest in that they solve the problems with the European Commission that they can block some pending resolutions.
