Spain already is the second world-wide producer of wine, underneath of France

According to the last forecast of the Ministry of Environingingment and Half Rural and Marino (MARM) to November of the year 2011, the production of the wine in Spain was of 40,3 million hectolitros. Basing in this data, beside the informations that give off of the report 'Came in encipher', published by the Institute of Services for the Agricultural and Alimentary Market of Italy (ISMEA-UIV), our country would surpass to Italy in production of wine, happening to occupy the second place in the ranking world-wide, underneath of France.
And is that the production of wine in Italy, as it launches the report, of the that does echo also the Spanish Observatory of the Market of the Wine, hardly reached the 40,2 million hectolitros. The report takes into account the previous forecast of the MARM, that vaticinaba 39,9 million hectolitros for Spain. However, the most recent foresees figures higher, that is to say, of 40,3 million hectolitros. The study confirms, also, that France, still is the main world-wide producer of wine, with 50,2 million hectolitros and an increase regarding the previous campaign of 11%.

In fourth position, underneath of Spain, situate United States, with a production of 18,7 million hectolitros, 6% inferior to the one of the previous year, accusing the bad results of the vintage in California, main productive zone of the North American country.

Between the producers of the New World, stands out the growth of the production of wine in Chile, 15,5%, situating it as seventh producer to world-wide level. Argentina and Australia occupied the fifth and sixth position respectively. The first, with a descent of 10% in the year 2011 and a production of 14,6 million hectolitros; and the second, that closed the exercise with similar figures to the previous year, near of the 10 millions and half of hectolitros. Above the barrier of the 10 million hectolitros, in addition to Chile find   other two countries: China, with 10,4 millions, occupying the eighth position and South Africa, with growth of 2% with regard to the previous harvest.

The report also signals a recovery of the production of the countries of the centre and east of Europe, after a year 2010 negative. They stand out the growths of Germany (+28%) and Austria (+45%), although it also is necessary to signal to Romania (+31%), Bulgaria (+55%), Hungary (+27%), Czech Republic and Slovakia.
