The INIA participates in a European action to study the potential of supply of resources madereros

According to the Spanish participants in the project, “these knowledges are necessary to define strategies of mitigación of the global change and can pose objective for the power of biomass to national level and European, as well as to support the proposal of an increase of the wooden use like a back decision to the Protocol of Kioto”.
This project works on the initial idea that the future stages in the field of the EU stand out a deficit of wooden supply in comparison with the wooden consumption. The main questions that have to clear are the potential offer of the trees out of the forestry, of the biomass and of the economic conditions, social and ecological, that will determine the wooden supply. The length of the project, that began in 2010, covers a period of four years, being foreseen his ending in October of 2014.
