Arias Cañete asks flexibility for the adecuación to the norm comunitaria by part of the sector avícola

The minister of Agriculture, Feeding and Environingingment, Miguel Arias Cañete, thinks to ask to Brussels flexibility for the adaptation of the sector avícola to the norm for cages of hens layers. Like this it made public it it does some days, during his visit to Fitur, where recalcó that our country finds in “in the senda of fulfillment”, concerning said normative. In this way, it reacted the maximum title of the MARM, to the penalizing procedure that prepares the European Commission against Spain and other fourteen States members for breaking the norms that went in in force the past 1 January. In front of said threat, the minister recognised that a part of the sector still has not adapted his installations, although it insisted in that they carry out “big efforts” in this sense.

The process of adecuación, according to the responsible maximum of the MARM, has demanded investments very cuantiosas, precisely in a period of recession and collapse of the demand, noticeably touched in the sector avícola that is not one of the most profitable of the activity grazier of the country. To face up to this situation, and to the delay that has produced , the minister announced the set up of a 'leaf of route', that has allowed to do an inventory of the farms and with her, an increase of the inspections, to end to fulfil with the requirements of the normative comunitaria.

From the ministry admits some delay in the adaptation to the norm comunitaria for cages of hens, although it insists in that our country finds in the good way.
