The agricultural organisations/organizations report the closing of 23.000 exploitations ovinas in five years

During the last five years, the ganadería Spanish has lost 23.000 exploitations of ovinos, as they have made public diverse agricultural organisations/organizations, as Asaja, Coag and Upa, beside the interprofesional Interovic. The reason of the closing of these farms is due to the little profitability that achieve the producers, forced to assume an encarecimiento of piensos and insumos beside the lower consumption of this meat, that the user perceives like fat and to a too high price. In fact, the censuses have gone down 6% during the period 2009-2010, until reaching the 18,5 million heads, 16 of them corresponding to reproductoras, whereas the number of farms situated in 107.000, during the period 2010-2011, underneath of the 123.000 in  operation three years before, according to sources of Asaja.

In spite of this context, in the last year the income have gone up 15%, as they have given to know from the Interprofesional Interovic, because of the revalorización of the skin and the wool, while the meat remains stable. In addition to the encarecimiento of the prices of the products ovinos mentioned, the big hope for the sector keeps on being the trade with foreign countries, and more if it takes into account that the sector crosses a process of restructuring, where cohabit the closing of farms with the greater efficiency of which still find in active. 

Regarding the proposal of the Reform of the PAC, presented the past 12 October by the European Commission, the agricultural organisations/organizations already have expressed his criticisms. All they coincide in that it does not take into account the specificity of the sector Spanish grazier, that no always has of earths in property to activate the European helps that will prevail the hectare or, that in the case to have them, these are of few dimensions.
