Next interactive meeting on the situation of the agricultural commodities market

Commodity markets are in a changing time today and operators are facing these changes. For this reason they have to be prepared if they want to be competitive. It is important that operators are well aware of all the factors involved in the decisions of production, purchase and sale of 'commodity' agri-food on the market, and know how to manage the trade and supply of raw materials in the new scenarios. In this situation, since comprehensive and the CESFAC Foundation, with the collaboration of the agrarian Forum Foundation, we want to help improve this knowledge and therefore organizes the workshop 'Volatility and uncertainty' on the market of agricultural rawto be held May 24 at 10 a.m. in the Superior School of engineers agronomists (ETSIA) of Madrid.

The day has a strategic reflection format totally new and different, a day, which will begin with an initial meeting in plenary, for the presentation of objectives, and will include a keynote presentation by José María Sumpsi (former Deputy Director-General of FAO and Professor of the Polytechnic University of Madrid). As a novelty, and in order to analyse the present and future situation of the sector in each link in the chain, will develop session by five working groups specific, throughout the morning. Each one of them will be headed by a coordinator and a number of experts who will guide the debate with the audience. The meeting will include representatives of all the links in the chain of production and marketing: operators of food and agricultural raw materials and its industrial transformers, public institutions and professional associations directly involved.

It is therefore an interactive Conference, fruit of which is intended to reach a set of conclusions after of reflection, which shall be adopted in the plenary in the afternoon, closed by Josep Puxeu, Secretary of State of Rural Environment and water of the MARM.
