This action is part of the programme of promotion of the olive oil in Europe that, in the first year reached more than 25 million among Spanish, British, French, Belgians and Dutch (13,60 m in Spain, 4.49 million in United Kingdom; 6.13 million in France and 767.920 in Belgium and 518.700 in the Netherlands). In the words of Peter cheap, President of the professional of olive Spanish oil, "So Food is an excellent opportunity to bring closer the virtues of olive oils to our neighbouring country."
The programme of promotion of the olive oil in Europe is an initiative of the interprofessional organisation of oil of olive Spanish, the Ministry of environment and Rural Environment and marine (MARM) and the European Commission. With a budget of more than 16.5 million euros, the programme will run for three years, from October 2009 to October 2012, Spain, United Kingdom, France, Belgium and Holland.
