on March 14, 2011
Mercasa and the Spanish Federation of municipalities and provinces (FEMP) have launched the call of the 7th national meeting of retail municipal markets, to be held in Zaragoza, the coming 21 and 22 November. This meeting will bring together more than 600 municipal heads and other administrations, together with market traders and experts from all areas on trade and consumption.
Mercasa and FEMP organise these events on a biennial basis since 1998, always with a very positive outcome, of assistance by both the discussions and conclusions reached, which have helped strengthen the position of leadership in local markets in the Spanish food distribution.
The 7th national meeting of municipal retail markets is convened under the theme 'new neighborhoods, new markets', because this time the lectures and planned interventions want to make a special contribution to the debate on the strategic opportunity for municipal markets in new urban developments of the cities. The aim is to respond to a growing consumer demand for a commercial offer of proximity, quality services and products, and the additional time with other commercial formats. A demand that in the new neighborhoods is expressly addressed to retail municipal markets.
The Organization of the 7th national meeting of municipal retail markets has the support of the Government of Aragon, the City Council of Zaragoza, Mercazaragoza, the Ministry of industry, tourism and trade and the Ministry of environment and Rural and Marine Affairs.
