The D.O. Campo de Borja together with 'The Wine Academy' in 'verema 2011'

On 25 and 26 February, the D.O. field of Borja, and "The Wine Academy' will actively participate in the 10th meeting Verema, to be held in the Hotel the sands of Valencia, two days of intense activity on the wine. On the occasion of the next edition, a full programme of activities has been organized. On Friday, February 25 will open the Verema space, an exhibition with more than 90 participating wineries, which will gather professionals, journalists and fans of the culture of the wine of quality of all Spain. Saturday, February 26 will be 12 simultaneous tastings of limited capacity, and in the afternoon, the tasting of closing 'garnacha', directed by Pancho Campo, Master of Wine and Chairman of 'the wine academy', accompanied by the also MW Norrel Robertson and Pedro Ballesteros. This tasting has the support of the CRDO Campo de Borja. The eight wines from garnacha from the denomination of origin Campo de Borja that are catarán such as closure of Verema 2011 are: Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centennial 2009 and Fagus 2008 Bodegas Aragonesas; Berola 2007-three peaks 2009 of Bodegas Borsao, Cayus 2009 and terraces of the 2007 Moncayo Crianzas and vineyards Santo Cristo and Alto Moncayo 2007 and Bodegas Alto Moncayo 2007 Aquilon.
The participation of the D.O. Campo de Borja together with The Wine Academy in Verema is part of the promotional campaign 'The Empire of Garnacha.Gira 2011', that will take the garnachas of this denomination of origin through various cities of Spain (Valencia)(, Barcelona, Madrid, Zaragoza and Marbella) and U.S.A. In January of 2011 began the tour with a visit field of Borja of Jay Miller, right hand of Robert Parker for The Wine Advocate magazine. After meeting wineries and vineyards of this D.O. conducted a tasting of garnachas, stating: "the Spanish garnacha and, above all, the Aragonese, is the" "grape of fashion in the world". In addition, Miller was pleasantly surprised by the excellent value for money of the wines tasted: "Are within the price that the Americans are willing to pay for a quality wine". All these projects have the cooperation of the Department of agriculture and food of the Government of Aragon and the Ministry of the environment, Rural and marine, under the terms of the aid which the com wine has been established to promote the wines of the European Union in third countries, as well as support of EAFRD funds, co-financed by the Government of Aragon.
