The adviser of Agriculture and Feeding of the government of Aragon, Gonzalo Arguilé, has resaltado the unquestionable and strategic value of the regadío like guarantee for the supply of foods and raw materials, as well as for the maintenance and future of the agriculture. Like this it has declared it in the first of the three days on the regadío that has organised the Society of Aragonese Rural Infrastructures (Sirasa) with reason of his tenth anniversary, and in which they have given appointment more than 200 assistants. “The regadío is unquestionable, although it question a lot. And although have true difficulties to go advancing no only in finishing the transformation of the regadío, that initiated in Aragon 100 years ago, but also to carry out the modernisation of the same, that does not have another end that improve the life of the regante, be more efficient in the use of the water and save resources”, has signalled Arguilé,
In this sense, the adviser has remembered that the modernisation and the transformation of regadíos is one of the political prioritarias of the government of Aragon, by what has done reference to the work developed in this matter, during the last decade. Like this, in the actuality, Aragon has more than 460.000 hectares of regadío, what supposes almost 10% of the total surface of the autonomous community and 19,6% of the useful agricultural surface. In the last 10 years, the autonomous community has modernizado more than 260.000 hectares of regadío and transformed more than 23.000 hectares, to which it is necessary to add other 28.000 that find in phase of transformation.
This first day has centred in the main challenges to which has to face up the regadío and the politics of performance to develop. After the inauguration, the general director of the Water, Ministry of Environingingment, and Half Rural and Marino, Marta Morén, tackled the importance to ensure the availability and improve the use of the water for the regadío. Later, 'An electrical system for the 21st century' has been the subject chosen by the president of Spanish Electrical Network, Luis Atienza, for his report.Also it has celebrated a round table under the title of 'Water and power: current vision and future challenges', in which it analysed the water of regadíos in front of the new Hydrological Plan of the Cuenca of the Ebro. By his part, the president of the General Community of Irrigations of the Altoaragón, César Trillo, has centred his intervention in the sustainability of the regadíos, the general director of Power and Mines of the Government of Aragon, Pilar Miller, has treated the energetic Plan of Aragon, and the director of the department of Development and Innovation of Sirasa, Alfonso Field, has spoken on the energetic alternatives in the regadíos.
