First European contact decision-making models 2011 of Case IH, with the system EfficientPower in Prague

Past 6 and 7 September, Case IH took a step beyond in an effort to show their 2011 models in Prague. During both days, visitors could inform other less tangible values, such as the introduction of the 'intelligent' system EfficientPower, already present in the Quadtrac range and model Steiger 600, which provides a higher performance with less fuel. Both tractors, with 670 HP maximum, are designed to meet the demands of power, durability, comfort and productivity of agriculture on a large scale. By way of example, the Quadtrac line consists of four models, whose power ranges of the 502 up to a maximum of 690 HP. Quadtrac configuration employs a system of independent of four tracks positive drive, minimizes the pressure on the ground and provide the traction needed to carry out heavy work putting the minimum possible impact on the ground. For its part, the Steiger range, formed by six models with power maximum between 391 and 670 HP, has been designed from two designs of frames: one close to 350-450 versions and other high power for 500-600 models.

In the long run, all Case IH of more than 100 HP equipment used of reduction catalytic selective (SCR) technology - more efficiency and less expenditure of fuel and emissions-, a technical innovation under the concept umbrella EfficientPower. "Other components of the technology EfficientPower - detailed - are the automatic management of productivity (Automatic Productivity Management APM) and our system of agriculture advanced (Advanced Farming System AFS)". The new Efficient Power system is incorporated into models of the year 2011 in all their series of tractors, from 130 up to the 600 HP. The purpose is the combine a wide range of technologies, particularly in the drive and control system, in order to improve productivity, comfort and, consequently, economic efficiency, in a substantial way.

The SCR-system is characterized by its high thermodynamic efficiency. Practice shows that, compared to conventional engine technologies, up to 10% fuel savings can be achieved. Also, can achieve higher performance and engine response. This technology not only ensures compliance with more stringent emission Tier 4a standards, but it also significantly reduces the cost of fuel. Nitric oxide in the exhaust gases is converted into nitrogen and water. To achieve this reaction chemistry AdBlue is used, a mixture safe and free of soot of pure water with urea synthetic production.

Case IH engines exhaust gases are now almost cleaner than the intake air. For practical application, the system offers several advantages. Thanks to these optimized combustion processes, the physical properties of engine oil last longer. This makes maintenance and immobilization time shorter. In addition, the SCR system allows reduce the emission of heat from numerous components of the engine, improving the reliability of the same and prolonging its useful life. Basically, the SCR system works automatically and reliably, regardless of the quality of the fuel. The only user must be sure that the solution of urea (AdBlue) tank is always full. The initial economic studies have shown that, despite the additional cost of the use of AdBlue, fuel consumption is significantly reduced. For example, every euro spent on AdBlue to save up to seven in fuel.

In general, the power of engine of all tractors equipped with EfficientPower is now also greater than in previous models. In addition, designations of tractors have adapted to the year 2011 models. In the Puma CLC 225, for example, the maximum power, has increased from 251 to 269 HP or 7% more. At the same time, increased the maximum torque of 1,025 Newton metre (Nm) to 1,160, equivalent to 13%.

Another element of the EfficientPower system is the automatic management of productivity APM. Broadly speaking, is a system BUS compatible with ISO (can-bus) that interconnects the engine, transmission and the elements of management in the cockpit. Similarly, also adjust the speed of the engine with the gear ratio to the desired speed. The APM system follows, automatically, the strategy of driving suitable for each situation.

For the first time, Case IH uses an identical operating concept in the cockpit of all tractors from 100 to 600 HP. The central element is the Multicontroller of last generation. With the Multicontroller armrests, driver controls with one hand all the main functions, such as the shifting, change of address, the speed of the engine or shift in capital management. As a complement to the management with the Multicontroller, note the (Intuitive Control Panel ICP) intuitive control panel integrated in the armrest. Simply, all the buttons incorporated for various functions of the tractor are operated only the finger. They have a logical way around a diagram of the tractor, showing thus intuitively the less experienced driver are the correct steps of management. The concept of management also includes all the instrumentation of the tractor. In column A are integrated monitors for all important functions of the tractor.

Case IH expands the series of tractors Puma CLC for the range between 131 and 160 HP of power, incorporating, for the first time, the EfficientPower technology. The firm presents three new models: the CLC 130 Puma has a nominal capacity of 131 CV (maximum power of 171 HP with power management), the 145 CLC, with 146 HP (maximum power of 188 HP power management), and the CLC 160 Puma whose nominal capacity is 160 HP (maximum output of 203 HP power management).

Visually, the external appearance of the new Puma CLC series reflects its compact design. The subsequent section of the bonnet is now much closer. In comparison with the larger Puma CLC models, being based on the wheel shorter improves maneuverability and reduces the turning radius. Therefore, the three new Puma CLC models are ideal tractors for different uses.

The hydraulic operation of the CLC Puma is also optimised. The lifting power now reaches the 8.3 tons, so it can be used mounted tools really heavy with ease. In addition, the flow of hydraulic oil has risen to 140 litres per minute. It has up to eight distributors and a 'power beyond' connection. "Thanks to continuing technical advances in a number of systems, we have been able to increase the productivity of new Puma CLC models 10%." In key areas, these tractors are the best in its category and offer maximum profitability with 'Power Boost', lower fuel consumption and a powerful hydraulic system, for example. In relation to the Magnum series, and in order to comply with the emission level 4A standards, the new models use technology of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of Case IH to obtain maximum performance with lower operating costs.
