Presentation of the first 'overhaul of land management and wildlife guide'

40% Of the farmers do not know how to act in the event of damage caused by wild animal species and even 58% know the existence of aid to compensate for them. These are some of the data extracted from the first 'guide the overhaul of the land management and wildlife', developed by Coag along with the Fundación Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente. The Guide, presented on May 28 in the Huesca town of bridge of the Queen of Jaca, part of a study based on a comprehensive survey to more than 650 farmers and ranchers from all the autonomous communities which have suffered ever attacks of wild animals on their farms. "We have tried filling that empty detected information and homogenize the normative scattered in each of the autonomous communities for the first time." In its different sections, the publication contains a series of protocols performance before possible damage by wildlife. In particular, the last chapter includes a series of recommendations aimed to ensure the compatibility of the agricultural sector and the wildlife. The peninsula is more than 80% of the total number of plant species in Europe and more than 50% of animal species. This high biodiversity is mirrored in the large expanse of land that is part of the Natura 2000 network; 26,64% of the total surface area of the country.
