The Marm allocated 13,200 million euros in water and rural development policies

The Secretary of State of Rural Environment and water, Josep Puxeu, has announced that a budget of 13,200 billion euros for policies of water and rural development, in the year 2010 will be managed from your Department. Puxeu has stressed that contributions to the agri-food sector amounted to 8,400 million euros, of which more than 7,400 million euros correspond to the common agricultural policy (Cap) and the remaining 1,000 million euros to national aid. In addition, the spokesman of Rural Environment and water has opted for the effectiveness of the financial instruments managed by the Ministry of the environment, and medium Rural and Marine Affairs (Marm), in collaboration with the official credit Institute (Ico), for providing liquidity to the producers. These credits exceed the aid put in place by countries such as Germany and France to curb the effects of the crisis in the sector. Only in this 2009 year, the 1.3 billion euros in loans to the agri-food sector have been overcome.
During the speech, the Secretary of State for water and Rural Environment recalled the situation of the agricultural sector and, in particular, that of the tomato. In this sense, has stressed that the Government of Spain has demanded that the European Commission to ensure compliance with the conditions laid down in the current agreement with Morocco, in relation to the prices and quotas. Puxeu has also made reference to the ongoing negotiations on a new agricultural agreement between the European Union and Morocco, yet to sign. Josep Puxeu has expressed that the Marm is pending in what refers to the system of prices for entry and treatment of sensitive products.
