Next day of mobilization in Almería in the absence of the Government's support for the fruit and vegetable sector

On October 8, the fruit and vegetable sector will mobilize against the passivity of the Central Government to trade agreements with third countries. Various agrarian organizations, with the support of associations of trade, convened a day of agricultural unemployment and mobilization in Almería in protest at the lack of Government support to the Spanish fruit and vegetable sector. The organizers of this call to denounce the 'lack of transparency"by the State entity in relation to the content of the bilateral agreements between Europe and third countries. In particular, the sector refers to the 'secrecy' on future trade agreement with Morocco, based on new agricultural concessions, and that the content is unknown. In addition, the conveners of this protest, on a national basis, resemble the Ministry of agriculture in addition to political will are needed on border controls to prevent fruit and extra vegetables from injuring the Spanish market. Agricultural institutions also require the State Government to recognize the importance of fruits and vegetables to Andalusia, Murcia, Valencia and Canary Islands.
