MAGRAMA, Anprogapor and Irta sign an agreement for the promotion of the Bank of Data of the Pork Spanish (BDPorc)

Taking advantage of the frame of the fair Sepor, that celebrates in Lorca (Murcia), and that gathers to the sector of the pork production of our country, the general director of Productions and Agricultural Markets of the Ministry of Agriculture, Feeding and Environingingment (MAGRAMA), Carlos Cabanas; the director of the National Association of Producers of Pork Livestock (Anprogapor), Miguel Ángel Higuera; and the general director of the Irta, Josep M. Monfort, have signed an agreement of collaboration between the three institutions for the promotion and exploitation of the Bank of Data of the Pork Spanish (BDPorc).

The Bank of Data of Reference of the Pork Spanish (BDPorc), was cream with the will to have of a reliable database and of reference that allowed to obtain objective elements for the follow-up and control of the technical results-economic of the Spanish pork exploitations. Initially conceived like a destined service to put in hands of the pork sector information and elements of help to the taking of decisions in the planning of his productive strategies, the BDPorc is also a platform for the evaluation of the distinct technical appearances of the pork production in Spain and for the realisation of diverse destined investigations to the sector.

At present the BDporc has collected roughly more than 30% of the census of reproductoras of all Spain. The signature of this agreement has also like purpose the one to facilitate and promote the adhesion of new exploitations. On the other hand it has set up, this year, the BDporc Technical-Economic, with information on the costs of production and the economic margins and has created recently the Database of Reference of Pork Iberian Spanish (BDporc Iberian), that to day of today has data of more than 20.000 reproductoras.

Along these 20 years the BDporc, that manages the IRTA, has allowed to the companies of pork know and evaluate the relative situation of his exploitations in relation to the standards of reference of the sector, receive detailed quarterly reports and have access to the and-BDPorc, the on-line tool that offers the immediate access, sure and permanent to the up to date information, to a series of tools advanced for the automatic analysis of the data and the systematic comparison with the values of reference.
