Celebrated the day of apple of summer in the Irta But Badia

The past 4 September took place in the Irta But Badia (The Cut d'Empordà, Gironinginga), the Technical Day Frutícola of summer. During the day, the assistants realizar a route by different stations situated in some of the plots of the Agricultural Experimental Station But Badia where, between other things, could see the performances of aclareo and poda in the frame of the mechanisation of the processes, key in fruticultura to reduce the costs of production of apple.

In the traditional exhibition of varieties of apple of summer stood out the new screens of ‘Gala' characterised for presenting more colouring that the screens that had up to now. This year, in the moment to comment the varieties, in addition to the behaviour agronómico of these, gave information of the different degrees of groove of the fruit.

Regarding the improvement of the management of the irrigation presented the results of the tool GiroReg, installed in 12 commercial plantations of the province of Gironinginga. In this sense, did special emphasis in the challenges to go on doing a good use of this resource limited, where the saving of water with the utilisation of irrigations more efficient is in the order of 40%.
