The Irta organises the III Day of Fruticultura highland

In the current context of economic crisis look for productive activities that allow to create occupation and generate a product of high quality tied to a concrete location is an aim prioritario of any agricultural politics. The highland zones constitute a key part of the territory by his vertebración, that in a lot of places provide a tourist offer of quality, but that requires of a complementarity with other activities as they are the agriculture, the livestock or the rural tourism.
In any one of the cases and looking for alternative of future, the production of apple of high quality, tied to a highland territory very specific, can be an alternative that contribute a complementary income and revalorice the territory, creating new opportunities of work. This would allow to preserve the territory, his value paisajístico and, what is more important, his people.
The starting signal, regarding the production of apple to scale commercial in the Pyrenees, initiated already in the past winter 2012-2013 in different zones of the Pyrenees. In the III Day of Fruticultura highland will expose these and other new experiences of production of hand-held apple of his managers and will present the results of the experience of the Ribagorça Romance and of the production of the apple in Austria. Finally, in the afternoon it will realizar a visit to know at first hand the work realizar in this new productive activity for the highland zones.
