Great success of assistance in the reinforced plastic composites Conference 17as
The President of the Organising Committee, Enrique Beneyto, made the presentation of the Conference, making the opening Francisco Javier Sanz, Rector of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, who thanked very specially to use the extraordinary setting of the Auditorium of the University to celebrate these events.
Sanz in his speech made mention of the need for close cooperation between University and company, so it is within this philosophy welcomed with enthusiasm the idea of actively collaborating in these acts, at the same time stressed the exceptional and rewarding inaugurated a Conference which began in 1975 and which have been held without interruption and great success of participation for 34 years.
The intervention of the Beneyto highlight its special mention of CEPMAC (Center for the promotion of the composite materials), group integrated within the Spanish Center of plastics and which part the partners dedicated to these materials, and recalling the recommendation of the Gustaaf BosSecretary General of EuCIA (european Composites industry association), in the last edition of these days, on the need to promote associations in this group and recommended that it is this entity who combine them, in order to participate actively in the decisions taken in the EU and that may affect our industrysuch as styrene emissions and solvents (VOC), treatment of waste, etc.
During the 2 days of workshops were presented 20 conferences provided for in the programme and that they were developed by leading domestic and foreign experts from the following companies, technological centres, colleges and institutes:

The closing was made by Justo Nieto, Conseller d' company, Universitat i Ciència de la Generalitat Valenciana, together with the President of the Spanish Center of plastics and the days, Albert Moreno.
As a finishing touch to these acts, the 24th evening undertook a visit to the Tower of the UPV commented on by Salvador Ivorra, counting with the presence of Professor Juan Antonio Rovira, head of the Department of mechanics of the continuum and theory of structures of the Polytechnic University of Valenciawhich directed the design and construction of this tower.
This tower is 44 meters high and 8.5 meters in diameter at the base, narrowing up to 1 meter at the top, which is crowned with a decorative area of glass, an indicator with the name of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and a driver of high lighting of 2 meters. With this construction, carried out by the pultrusion process, are intended to create a point of reference from afar indicating the entrance of the University at the same time experiencing the limits of what can now be achieved using plastics reinforced construction projects, and also demonstrate the great future of these materials, as they make it possible to build large structures.
He is followed by a visit to the facilities of the technological Institute of the Aimplas plastic, especially to the new plant dedicated to these materials.
As usual in the Conference organized by the Centre Spanish of plastics, attendees were given a dossier containing all the lectures presented, providing in addition all this documentation compiled on a CD.
Many attendees showed their interest and satisfaction the development of these 17ªs. days of reinforced compounds/plastics materials, both animated colloquia and discussions in the breaks and lunches, which led to subsequent meetings to discuss and extend the Treaty.
